Sales Manager – Robotics & Automation

RMGroup UK are one of the leading turnkey robotics and automation integrators within the UK, specialising in process and packaging end of line systems. Operating within the UK and overseas, the company designs, manufactures, commissions, and supports equipment within a host of industries, working predominantly with ABB Robotics as a Value-Added Partner.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our sales team, overseeing the entire direct sales process: lead generation, opportunity evaluation, sales pipelining, and forecasting, working with key suppliers and key client account management, to maximise the opportunity for success for the business.

You will show exceptional self-learning ability to get to grips with complex subject matters, disparate information sources and be able to bring them together in a delivery process to ensure that our internal team can action tasks and deliver exceptional customer service.

This is a proactive sales role and requires you to fully utilise your technical capabilities and make a tangible difference to the ongoing success of our business. Working towards agreed targets – in doing so, increasing sales revenues, boosting profitability, and driving customer satisfaction.


  • Selling various automation applications to include robotic pick & place, industrial palletising, and mobile robots (AMRS’s)
  • Managing sales process and ensure compliance to deadlines
  • Conducting customer site visits and meetings
  • Promotion of the company’s products and services including trade shows
  • Providing automation solutions to suit client’s needs and budgets
  • Creating detailed proposals to customers
  • Entry and maintenance of ERP system from a CRM and sales opportunity perspective.
  • Management of leads and sales reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Check on competitive activity and develop new methods of attaining current and new customers.

Desired Skills and Attributes

  • Previous sales experience within the automation sector is desirable
  • Focused on customer satisfaction and providing and excellent level of customer service and support
  • Able to achieve and maintain targets with a motivated and proactive approach
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and demonstrate discipline in achieving goals
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and have a “can-do” attitude
  • Good IT Skills must have proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Previous experience with CRM systems desired
  • Provide a high level of skill in interpreting the customer’s and regulatory requirements to ensure proposals are perfectly aligned with the customer’s expectation/user requirements
  • Being constantly commercially aware to maximise value to our customers and maintain a loyal customer base
  • Experience in delivering solutions to technical problems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, confident and capable in client facing role with a strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel is essential as customer sites are nationwide


Hours: 45 Hours per week (Mon-Fri)

Annual Leave: 24 Days (excludes bank holidays)

Salary:  competitive basic salary up to £60,000 (Dependent upon experience) + Bonus structure based on annual sales targets.
