On the back of a successful research and development project, led by Specialist Aggregates, into blast mitigation in electrical link boxes a new bespoke packing solution was commissioned from RMGroup to further enhance Specialist Aggregates technical bagging capability. Specialist Aggregates turned to RM just 9 months after their first order for the FPK44 because of their engineering expertise and problem solving capabilities.
The line was built to RMG’s exceptionally high standards, including being customised specifically to Specialist Aggregates’ requirements. On-site installation and commissioning was achieved in a record three days immediately before Christmas.
Managing Director Steve Le Chevalier told us that the new facility also provides a vital link allowing the company to further strengthen its position in the market for leisure aggregates. More specifically it has equipped the Company for entry into the aquarium substrate market with the launch of a UK sourced eco-friendly replacement for imported coral sand for use in marine aquaria
Features of the new line include the inline formation of carry handles to high quality retail packaging. This has proven to be a unique selling point for supply of traction sand for locomotives with forward orders already being placed for Autumn 2019. Additional features of the new line further enhance Specialist Aggregates’ offering to retail partners and establish a new capability in technically demanding packaging to meet the most stringent specifications.
