Case Study
Cotwall
Richard Bruckshaw of Cotwall Farm in Telford contacted RMGroup with an enquiry, to install a system to palletise potatoes. Due to labour issues in the past and extremely busy periods, he required a process that was effective and reliable whilst being flexible to any changes he may require in the stacking format. After receiving a quotation from a competitor, he decided to make contact with RMGroup to discuss his options.
With the addition of “Easy Teach” Mr Bruckshaw would be able to change his stacking design in a matter of seconds from the HMI touch screen, allowing him full control over his packing onsite, or remotely from his laptop or even mobile phone, eliminating engineer call out charges. With full customer care support available on the phone if he needed it, this allowed him to make the right decision for his business.
Mr Bruckshaw stated “one of the main reasons I contacted RMGroup was because of the positive reputation I have heard, I’d spoken to a previous customer who had purchased a palletising system off RMGroup, and they told me that RMGroup’s after service and support was one of the best in the industry”
This is obviously great feedback and gives us confidence in the service we deliver. Also feedback from the end user is always good to hear. The merchant, that Cotwall Farm supplies their potatoes to said that the pallet stacks are as good as anybody’s that supply him.
To complete the project an ABB robot palletising system was installed together with square rumble rollers and pick up conveyor, the product was perfectly presentable to the palletising system. Fixed guarding and two sets of light barriers installed created a safe two-on-the-floor system. This allowed the robot to work continuously, taking full pallets out whilst a new one was being stacked so no time was lost.
