Horizontal baling is used for products that do not lend themselves to being screw conveyed. For example long hay will block the screw flights. In this case the product is dropped directly from the weigher in to the pressing chamber. Most horizontal balers retain completed bales inside the baling chamber until another completed bale pushes it out of the chamber.
